General Information

The Faculty of Agriculture was officially founded as one of the backbone faculties of Kasetsart University on February 2. 1943. The premises are situated in the northern suburb of Bangkok (about 10 kilometers from Bangkok International Airport). In keeping with the increasing number of staff and students as well as the requirements for more experimental fields and laboratories, the faculty had to extend its facilities to the second campus located in Kamphaeng Saen, Nakhon Pathom (80 kilometers west of Bangkok) in November 1979.

Study Programs

The faculty offers both undergraduate and postgraduate programs. For the undergraduate program, six four-year curricula are offered. The first curriculum leads to the degree of B.S. (Agriculture) with seven fields of specialization, i.e. Agricultural Extension & Communication, Agronomy, Animal Science. Entomology, Horticulture, Plant Pathology and Soil Science. The second and third offerings are the degree of B.S. (Home Economics), B.S. (Agricultural Mechanization). The remaining curricula are interdepartmental programs leading to the degree of B.S. (Pest Management) and B.S. (Agricultural Chemistry), and B.S. (Agricultural Biotechnology) Through the Graduate School and the Center for International Tropical Agriculture, each department is responsible for the postgraduate programs leading to Master of Science and Doctor of Philosophy are indicated in Table 2.
